I don't want to change because I like them that much.

I was coming to the forum to ask a question and you guys may have already answered it for me... I am playing a set of 714 AP1s. Found a set of 735.cm I can get for about $100 and was thinking of trying them out to step into something less forgiving than the AP1.

Looking like a small investment to try the 735.cm even though much older than the older irons I'm already playing.

they’re still a good set of sticks. My clubs aren’t the problem with my game.... I am, and I doubt a new set of irons would shave off 5-10 strokes

Currently playing the T300s. Have a set of first edition ap2s, believe that was 2008 and 716ap1s, Not one to keep older models, just waiting for the right opportunity to find them a new home. Great condition.

Currently gaming a set of Old Adams A2’s but when this mess is all over I’m hoping to get fitted for my first set of Titleist irons. Can’t wait!

735 CM's just keep kicking everything else out of the bag, AP2 and JPX just can't hold a candle to the 735's. They are not for everyone but for the few that can enjoy a blade style they are exceptional and still offer a lot of forgiveness over the blades that us older generations grew up playing before the Eye 2 thing happened. Maybe one of these days they will loose there place in my bag but it's not happening until Titleist remakes them with a new look and some tech other wise you just can't beat the turf interaction and ball flighting capabilities. If Titleist was to remake them it would be a thing of beauty if they could still produce similar results while getting the top line slim down closer to the old Browning automatics (2nd gen), as they are the best looking clubs at address. Performance wise the 735's are still my favorite players irons hands down even today.

I played 704cb until this past fall, when I finally upgraded to the T100. Both are great irons. I kept my 704s and will never get rid of them, as they were a great combination of responsive, forged, and workable while still having forgiveness. The T100 have a more shaved top line, new tech, and even better distance control and are more workable in my opinion, and the Nippon shafts in them are also a better fit for my game. But Titleist really struck gold with the 704cb, just like they also did with the 735cm, issued around the same time.

Personally, no. However, I have a good buddy who still games the 755's. He simply won't give the up or even try anything else. I guess when you play to a +2, why change things?!?!

Seems that most blade players hold onto their older sets longer. If they still have plenty of grooves left and lots of game in them. Play on......

I'm 82. I play all my golf with only a Titleist Model 90 5-iron with Arthritic grip, (no glove), and a vintage Daiwa Putter.
I like the narrow bottom on the 5-iron head b/c I can lay it back to act like a 6,7,8, or 9 iron.

STILL gaming my 716 AP1's

I have a set of Spaulding Tour Editions from the late 1980's. Greg Norman played them before he signed with Cobra. First set of custom fit clubs for me. I take a few of them to the range everyone once in a while. They just don't work with the new golf balls but the feeling when I strike one right in the middle of the clubface is unreal.

Still playing the original AP2's some of the time. If it isn't broken don't fix it.

I still play the 712 CB's. IMO some of the best irons ever made.

Alsthough I just switched to the T100-S and I am liking what i feel.....gotta get my scoring down a little though

I have been gaming my DCI Blacks forever. They just work best for me. I do enjoy trying equipment, but I never find anything I like better than those old sticks.

still playing my DCI's from 1998, they still work well. waiting on the new T100's to come out to finally replace them but will keep the DCI's around

I have been gaming the DCI 762s, but I just made the switch to the 718 AP3s. Hit the 762s well, but needed more distance.

I am still gaming the 718 AP3s, however, the new T200s look awesome.

The question is how long is too long to play a set?

712 ap2s for me. Thinking about the new t100 or 200s. Hard to replace the best feeling irons I’ve ever had
