A good fitter doesn't need an app... they can tell by the sound of contact and flight of the ball. Never get fit for wedges indoors, no matter what.

I agree that wedge fittings are best when conducted outdoors. However, most people don't even get fitted when they buy their wedges, and many of those who do get fitted simply don't have access to an outdoor Titleist fitting. The folks at Titleist saw this need and filled it with a very accurate tool to help Titleist fitters ensure customers get what fits them best. With Bob Vokey and Titleist's engineering team standing behind it, I'd say it's a nice addition to the tool box.
