The events have been evolving over the years. They had the fitting event in Spring, 2016 and then the TT Invitational that fall at Pinehurst. Last year was the Invitational at PGA Sawgrass. I think they are trying to plan events around the country to share the experience as well as go to new sites for variety. Pinehurst has been a great place to go to, but with places like Pebble Beach, Bandon Dunes, Sand Valley, Whistling Straits, Cabot Links, etc. to cross off my list, I'll follow TT anywhere.
