  1. Has anyone had an iron fitting at the new Titleist center in Pinehurst? Is it a better experience than a fitting thru a Titleist club fitter (specifically Jeff ?, can’t think of his last name at the moment; has fittings in the Raleigh, NC area). Do you hit off the turf with either? Pinehurst is definitely more expensive but I’m looking for the BEST experience. Shaft offerings about the same? Anyone with any experience with either please chime in. Would really like to hit the new T series and see if they will benefit me. Thanks for all replies! Rusty

There are Titleist fitting events Premier sites, and fitters. As well as TPI and Manchester Lane. It sounds like Jeff was part of the fitting events. Sponsored by Titleist, conducts fittings with $100 deposit that can be applied buying the recommended clubs through the sponsoring course.

Premier sites use their own experts so the fitting fee is a variable. Many will wave or reduce the fee with a purchase. By comparison, TPI is in the neighborhood of $500 for an iron fitting and excludes whatever you do for clubs.

With the commitment with Titleist and Pinehurst, I would expect them to have a compliment of shafts at least equal to the contract fitting events. I’d expect there is a minimum fitting fee, but they have more available dates than the fairly random fitting events.

Pinehurst is the only Premier fitting site currently booking within 75 miles. If you live further away, your options may vary.

The fitting center is very well equipped at Pinehurst. They have a dedicated area for it but it is all indoors. With the practice range right next to the center, I would expect they would let you go outside to hit a few but I can’t testify to it. I have been there, but have not done an actual fitting.

My cousin did a full bag fitting while at the TT event in Nov/Dec at Pinehurst. It was all indoors and off of turf. Trackman sim. I watched some of it. Fitter was really nice. Only recommended new clubs when he saw a noticeable improvement with his numbers. For example, his driver and irons saw a huge improvement where he hit his old hybrid just as good as a new one, so he didn't need to buy that one. Had all the shafts and heads you would need. Even let me warm up in there before we played the Cradle. It was a good experience for him.
