More than 2 degrees and the risk of cracking the finish increases. Also brings snapping the hosel in as well. At my first fitting for irons, a png and the AP1 712 were slightly different in ideal length and lie. You may want to have a pro shop with an outdoor fitting work with you on an ideal lie angle. The TPI/Manchester iron fittings will actually adjust lie as part of the fittings and either a Titleist Thursday or Premier fitter may as well.

I guess you could try but if they break, Titleist would not be responsible to replace. These are cast, not forged so the iron is more brittle. That is why they limit adjustments to only 2 degrees. Even a hairline crack may not be noticeable until you hit it a few times and it snaps at the hosel.

3 degrees is just too much of an adjustment, especially with a cast club.

Thanks everyone for the helpful responses. The standard lies for Titleist are quite upright in comparison to the standards for say png or miz, so being able to bend flat by only two degrees seems limited in that sense. Additionally, other brands such as TM and cally offer up to 3-4 degrees bending (flat) for cast / game improvement clubs.

I've gotten fit for a set of T300 irons that are 2 degrees flat from standard, which is a similar lie to what i've been fit for in the past when fit in a hitting bay. However when i get on the course, I have previously tended to hook the ball a bit too much at that lie angle, so being able to bend an extra degree flat has really helped solve that in prior years.

I'm trying to make swing changes to stand closer to the ball, so maybe 1 less degree flat will force me to do that. Positive thinking!

I used to play with a very weak right hand grip and a high cut that went nowhere so my pro got me playing a very strong grip. Works great if I keep the clubface slightly open at address but when I set up with the face square and the strong grip, I too end up with too many low draws or even the occasional pull hook. Hopefully you get a club setup and swing that gives you the best results and you continue to have fun out there.
