The hosel settings are to dial in your best setup. Even though you've added some loft and upped the lie, decreasing the loft can decrease your accuracy and occasionally get a couple of yards more. If you are constantly in the fairway, you try B2 or C2 for more distance, but your dispersion may suffer or even distance if you lose too much launch angle. The beauty is this is one place you can always go back to. But don't ever adjust your swing to the club.
