I am a 10 handicap at the age of 15 and i am looking for wedges. I have some older volkey wedges and i love them but i am getting a whole new set of titlest clubs and i just need some guidance.

I'm currently playing SM 9s 54.10 S and 58.10 S. I also carry the 48 gap. My question is this...I'm a 15 and I don't take a big divot, probably the result of practicing off of range mats. Am I using the correct bounce and grind?

How many here have used it. I got one used for $189 and it had an NSPro950 S. I set it up to play as a 9 iron (42*). I liked the shaft so much that I reshafted my 620CB 8 iron.

If you do a lot of open face shots D and T grind. K and low bounce K are meant more for digging shots. For 2 years my combo was 58-12D (57*) and 60-06K. I played 58-14K (56*) for 3 years. I used to use LBK for wet bunkers and off firm lies. Now that I've discovered the idiosyncrasies of T grind, it has been my lob wedge for a year now. www.titleist.com/.../oh0thhd1sgc9hpskjapu

High bounce K for 54/56

Anyone else wish Vokey would offer a high bounce K in the sand wedge lofts? I understand the more modern approach is to use the lob wedge out of the sand, but I'm a bit more old school and like to use my sand wedge out of the sand most of the time and have a low bounce lob wedge. I just received my 60.06K today but would love a 54.14K as well. I've had 54.14F and 54.12D and like them both well enough, but I feel the 54.14K would be perfect.

recently purchased 54' and 58' vokey wedges, to compliment the standard T-300 irons. I get these clubs well, but wondering if the gap between the 48 and the 54 is little too much. Any, all opinions are appreciated.

Cases in point for 56-08M and 56-12D. More prone to "hosel rockets" or pulls before with too upright of a lie angle or too long of a shaft. I had also had issues with a 48-10F (46*) with an occasional shank or pulled shot.

There was a period where I was doing very well with a 54-10S (52*). Played it as a gap wedge for 3 years. I played 695MB 7-P set 1/2" short and 1* upright. Now I remember the club length of the 54S was 35"

Used to have a hard time with a 50 or 52 GW.

Been doing well with 44F for some time now.

I've been pretty comfortable using a 58-14K or 58-12D as a sand wedge since 2019. Even with 65* lie angle.

Had the fitter check the lie angle of the 44F. 64*. Once I set the lie angle of the 52-12F to 64* no problem. I just recently went to 50-12F set to 48* and that is now my "PW".

I shortened the lengths of the 56-08M and 56-12D to 35". One thing now is no issue with full swings. I use the M (55*) when I bring a 60-12D (59*) for course conditions. 56-12D (54*) is a good general purpose SW. 60-04T is my lob wedge.

So my Titleist T250 set is 1/2" long and 2 degrees flat. 43 degree pitching wedge is 36.25". My wedges are 48, 53, 58. Do you all just extend those 1/2" as well or do you play them all at the same length as your pitching wedge. I have read all sorts of variations. Also I assume your wedges should be 2 degrees flat as well?

If you tend to be a digger, both K and low-K are great. D and T are better for flop shots but about equal to the two Ks from soft lies.

I played K grind (58-14K) bent 2* strong between 2019-2023. Was alternating between K and 58-12D (56*) between 2023-2024. Between mid 2024 until 2025, my go to combo was 58-12D (57*) and 60-06K. Where D wins out over K grind is open face or flop shots. Once I figured out the idiosyncrasies of T grind, I've been using 60-04T for greenside bunkers and flop shots.

I briefly tried out a 58K* set to 59*. Great out of soft sand but 60-06K is better off hard lies.

I also had 58V. Fantastic in soft bunkers. Not as good as D grind off firm lies.

For me S grind is very limited. It's great for pitch shots and chipping but leaves a lot to be desired in sand. Doesn't lend itself too well for flop shots.

For what it's worth, I have a pic of the 60-12D and 60-04T alongside. They perform equally well in soft sand and most pitching. Where T grind wins out is a severe downhill lie on hard pan.... picks the ball better.

Not a tremendous difference between 56-08 M (55*) and 56-12D (54*). I use the M and 60-12D in place of 56-12D (54*) for unknown course conditions.

My carry bag is shown. 56-12D (54*) for a sand wedge and 60-04T for lob wedge.

For unknown course conditions, replace the 56-12D with 56-08M (55*) and 60-12D (59*). There are a couple courses where I add the PM Grind 64/10 ("Phil 64"). The images are below.

Wedge fitting is an overlooked session I find. Folks are all about driver and iron fittings (and rightly so), but skip proper (professional) wedge and putter fittings. Enjoy the new wedges!

I have the same + 1/2" through my irons. I do lengthen my wedges by 1/2". In my case I have the irons at 2 degrees up and both gap and sand at 2 degrees up. Lob wedge is at 1 degree up. Just depends on your stance / swing. Best way to determine specs is with data from a fitting session if you can manage it.

My irons are 1/2" over standard length and I get my Vokeys made that way also (whatever the standard Vokey length for each Vokey, add 1/2" just like for your irons). If you need the additional 1/2" in your irons, you will need it in your Vokeys, at least for the clubs used for full swings. The lie angle gets a little more complicated. My irons are 1 degree upright. My Vokeys are 52, 56 and 60. The 52 is almost entirely used as a full swing club so I get the lie angle to match my irons at 1 degree up. The 56 is a full swing club also but its my primary club around the green. And I typically only use the 60 out of bunkers (low bounce K) and around the green, almost never from the fairway. So for the 56 and 60, I go standard lie, which is 1 degree flatter than my irons. Some pros make their wedges 2 degrees flatter than their irons. When you swing a club, the shaft bows downward and curves away from you on the downswing due to the weight of the club combined with the speed of the clubhead (physics gurus please forgive my crude explanation)- referred to as the toe down effect). So at address, the toe will be slightly off the ground to make up for the toe down effect. Around the greens, you are not getting enough speed to cause the toe to drop, so the toe will be up at impact on short shots around the green. So for your wedges, think about how you use them the majority of the time and have the lie angles set accordingly. What I have described above is pretty common amount both pros and recreational players.
