Will be out of golf for a short period. We are heading to England, Ireland and Scotland for vacation and cruising the isles. No golf just fun and relaxation. Looking forward to visiting the Jameson Distillery, walking where the Beatles did their thing and looking for the Lock Ness monster. Yeah, I believe in the Easter Bunny also. You guys hit'em straight. Free cruise, free booze.

From my Ireland trips, if it is a choice while in Dublin, pick the Guinness tour over the Jameson. Jameson is a “recreation” as it is distilled near Cork. The Jameson tour is not free and only incudes one shot.
The Tullamore DEW tour in Tullamore is the actual distillery and includes more samples. The 12 year old was magic.
If driving, Guinness 0 is a solid recommendation.
Can’t offer any advice on the UK. Other than the Twinings tea shop in London.

Thanks Don, for the heads up on the Jameson tour. Our host gallery, who is paying for the cruise is also paying for a tour of the city which includes a tour of the Jameson distillery we will only be there one day. One shot is enough for me as long as it is their 18 year old. No driving we are visiting a number of cities along the coasts of England, Ireland and Scotland. Will be visiting Rembrandt's house/museum while in Amsterdam before we leave on the Celebrity Eclipse cruise ship. We are art collectors and this is a VIP art cruise. We will be departing Amsterdam and visiting Waterford (Dunmore E), Ireland; Dun Laoghaire, Ireland; Liverpool, England; Belfast, N. Ireland; Glasgow, Scotland; Lerwick, Scotland, Inverness; Scotland (Lock Ness); and back to Amsterdam. A packed fun filled vacation, meeting famous artists, seeing master's works and enjoying great meals. They do treat us well. I'll pick up a pint of Guinness at a local pub when we are out and about. It tastes a lot better over there. We did a trip over there a number of years a go and stayed in a B&B in the town of Killarney, County Kerry. Delightful stay. Did it through an Irish tour guide. They picked up up everyday and played five courses.

It's great when you can start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. This game will humble you and then give you glimpses of greatness. It's why we all keep trying to play that one perfect round that never comes.

Chuck, glad to see things are trending in a better direction. I will look to find you at an event in 2027. My son will be attending College of Charleston in the fall so I will let you know when I am heading that way, perhaps we can catch a round.

So at the last 36 hours in the late evening, we got a notice from the sponsoring gallery that we had to apply for a visa to get off the ship in the UK. Not the fault of the gallery, but the ship. Normally they handle the visas. Bummer. Not an easy task. Never can get the information right. Finally got them the pictures they wanted, looked like a convict, and awaiting the decision of the consul. Will know when we get there. Hopefully we can get off the ship, decision takes two days after paying them $126.00 and having Bank of America putting a block on my BOA Travel Card suspicious posting to my account. Yesterday was a lot of fun, about like playing a six hour round of golf. All is well now and Uber will pick us up at noon off we will go. Our concierge from the gallery called this morning and assured us all is well. She is on the ship and will be making a turn around and going with us. As I always say, hakuna matata.

I do wish I had time to hit a golf ball while I am there. Know you guys will make up for me while I am gone. At least Dale will?

Go to know if you are thinking of leaving the USA, be it EU, UK, or Canada, be sure to check if you need a visa or other form to enter that country. The rules from 2000 are rapidly changing. Found out last year for a TT event at Cabot Cliffs, Canada wanted a form for the 4 day stay.
Not to mention if your passport expires in less than 6 months after your expected travel date - be sure to renew. .

Thanks, Don. We do a lot of overseas travel. We found out about the VISA. The ships we travel on usually pay for those for us, as our cruises normally are free. They last up to 30 days for the UK. We renewed our passports last year. Was told that the VISAs are payback because of the restrictions here in the states. Tit for tat, as the saying goes. Time consuming, kein stress! If you let things like this affect you mentally you will get grey hair. Mine comes from German ancestry.

Chuck a lot to digest. First of all, great to hear you are back out there. As far as the travel goes, I hope you get things worked out. I was lucky enough to play a round of golf in Kinsale on our Ireland trip a few years back. We will be going again as the people, and the whiskey, are top notch.

You actually want to get your Jameson's here, it has a higher content of alcohol. Did not get to taste the good stuff. Tasted the black, original and a special blend you can only get at the distillery there, nothing higher than 7-12 year old. Figure I will buy mine at Total Wines or at the Joint Base liquor store. Try Crown Royal Black, tastes very similar.

WE had a blast the highlights were visiting the Beatles Museum in Liverpool and cruises on Lock Ness. Did not see Nessy but swear I saw an alien. They said there was a sighting on June 25th, 2026. A beautify lake and area. Leaving it to the imagination. Anything is possible in our lifetime.

Was the alian sighting b4 or after the pub crawl? Asking of a friend.

Ha, ha. Nah, have really cooled it in my older years. Just did a proper tasting. Was taking meds and they would not have mixed too well. Have done more that my share in the past. = (

Think the alien might have been the sun bouncing off the water on the lock. Told the guide and he laughed and said anything is possible on the lock. We did have a great time.

SSR, Pain management and rehab clinic released me this week from the muscle I pulled in March. PT feels they can release me if all goes well on my vacation this week. Will do one more session when I return. Now if I can start trusting my swing. Can keep expecting 60 year old results from an 80 year old body. Am also ready for some cool weather. This high heat index has been a killer. Supposed to hit 115 this week. Glad I will not be here. Hakuna matata.

Thanks pal. Not as well as I had hoped. Still in PT. Played 6 rounds in June, 4 rounds in July, 2 in August and once this month. One stop forward and two backwards. Cannot wait for cooler weather. Too hot to practice. Some of the hottest days on record. Was reading about the 85 rule and seems I am playing from the wrong tees. Going to have to eat crow and move up to the front tees and hope to have more fun. Tale care and back at cha. Been a while.

Wow what a difference moving up made. Shot an 81 blew my points away and did not have to stress over a shot all day. Best day I have had all year. Got a bit of kidding but also got a few kudos for making the move. Said it was about time. Think shooting my age might be a real goal now.
