Simulator shots vs outside

    So I have a question, when I use a simulator, my shots are terrible, either flying sharp right or just plain ol’ short. For example my 6 iron outside can go around 180 but inside I couldn’t get past 130!!! My wife plays just fine on grass and on the simulator. What gives??? There is a divot on the sim for everyone hitting from the same spot, I’m wondering if that’s the reason. Am I just over thinking things and don’t worry about it? Lol I just don’t get it, my wife can hit anywhere and it’s just fine

    Suggestion: When you practice on a simulator, it is pretty easy to become ball focused rather than target focused. You could try to think about swinging the clubhead through the ball instead of at it, and down the target line toward your imaginary target as a way of defeating the type of problems that you are experiencing.

    For me I’ve noticed choking up on the club a tad so there’s less drag on the turf. And like mentioned focus on swinging your swing

    I'm slightly shorter on the Sim than outside but not a huge difference. Maybe 5 yards. It's because the balls I use have been beat to death by me 2 or 3 times per week. Haha. Out on the course I always have a new Titleist ball. If I'm ever way shorter, it's usually a low point issue. I adjust my stance a little and it gets everything back to normal. I feel you have to be more precise on mats than on grass.

    I had the same issue. It got to a point that I hated playing on the sim, but I focused on swinging through the ball rather than just focusing on the ball and that helped.

    For me I don't seem to swing as fast indoors as I do outdoors. Feels the same just slower.

    Same! Feel like a crazy person when I go hit balls in a store because I bring a glove with me.

    You don't play sim, you play golf...and that is played outdoors! Enjoy the inside work but it's what happens on the course and in the elements outside that counts!

    (says the jealous guy who doesn't have any room for a sim)

    Simulators are only as good as the person who set it up. Get outdoors where we belong.
