Early this year, I was asked to try the new Bridgestone X series golf balls. Ever since I can remember I’ve been playing pro V1 with great confidence. Had no reason whatsoever even to think of switching my golf ball. However, this would be fun and free . My two demo sleeves were the Bridgestone VS Blue (current Tour B XS) and the VS Black (Tour BX). I really liked the Blue as it performed similarly to the Pro V1 for me. Not long ago, I took advantage of the buy three dozen get one free from Bridgestone (Tour B XS). I’ve gone through a sleeve of the new Bridgestone‘s and must say I do like them, but find myself gravitating back to the trusted number one ball in golf pro V1. I must say I feel guilty even hitting another ball, but these are great problem decisions to be made. Anyone else entertaining cheating on their trusted Ball?

It takes a real man to confess his sins!
Nothing wrong with trying different balls to seee what the hype is. I just can't see paying for them so usually limit it to balls I find or that were received as gifts. I always end up back at the ProV1x though. Ever since I learned how to spell it.

I wouldn’t drive through Burger King and ask for a Big Mac so no, I wouldn’t join a group of Titleist enthusiasts and post about other products, regardless of which one I preferred. I guess that’s just me but seems like the best way to treat the TT followers. Glad to hear that you still prefer your ProV1, the number one ball in golf.

I made the switch but kept it in the Titleist family. I went from the ProV1 to the Tour Soft and haven't looked back...
  6. Using ProV1 ball today sunk 85 foot putt from off the green for birdie. Texas wedge + ProV1!
  7. There are a lot of good golf balls being made. I will find another brand ball, and play with for a few holes. It will be good, but not as good as the Pro V1, or the ProV1x that I currently play. I would imagine all ball manufacturers have incentives for tour players to use their balls, but with that being said, there is a reason Titleist leads the ball count by a wide margin.

I play the Pro V1x, because it works for me.
But, I find an awful lot of balls, probably half a dozen tour quality balls a week, easy. And I try them out. TP5s, Tour Chrome X, Snell, Seed, even the Maxfli Tour-X, all good balls.
And, by doing that, is how I know Titleist is spot on, when it comes to performance and quality. And why I don't plan on switching any time soon.
Since the very beginning, Titleist was built on quality control. We all know the x-raying the ball story. So, while that Maxfli Tour-X might be a heckuva ball at that price level, the difference is I know EVERY Titleist I take out of the sleeve is perfect. No duds.
And that's worth the extra to me.

Bridgestone recently announced they were shutting down their Covington, GA, ball plant, and no longer manufacturing in the US. That's a shame, they're a top 5 manufacturer, and a worthy competitor. They made Tiger's ball in his post-Titleist career, and subcontracted for swoosh, back in that era.

Bridgestone. Wow. Thats OB. Gaming ProV since 2000 . Thats why we are Titleist. It will never be dethroned. Driver distance. Ball flight . Short game spin all in one . Consistency. Loving the ProV1X left dash. LETS GO TEAM TITLEIST

Here is an interesting story about ball quality.
I play in an annual vendor tournament where they give everybody a sleeve of TP5 with their logo. I don't use that ball so I would just put them in the closet unless I knew someone who wanted them. Earlier this year I decided to clean out the closet, and grabbed a couple sleeves for an upcoming scramble. I would say one was about 4 years old but still fresh, and the other was this years gift. Played about 3 holes with the older one, and those balls were dead compared to the new one. Never experienced that with the ProV1x. Ended up giving them to a another member of our team before going back to my old reliable X. He was very appreciative, but the again, he never played Titleist balls.
